Bible Verse
“And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you.”
— 1 Thessalonians 4:11 (KJV)

Ellen G. White Quote
“It is not the great results we attain, but the motives from which we act, that weigh with God.”
— Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 2, p. 510

Reflection
In a world that celebrates busyness and spotlight, the Bible invites us to a different rhythm: a quiet life of purpose. Paul encouraged the church to live simply, to work faithfully, and to honor God in the ordinary.
A quiet life isn’t a wasted life. It’s one where God is found in the details for example serving your family, doing your job with honesty, offering kindness in silence. These unseen acts are precious in God’s eyes.
Ellen White reminds us that God isn’t impressed by status or success, but by our motives. A small task done in love may mean more in heaven than a great work done for praise.

Let This Be Your Prayer Today
Lord, teach me to value a quiet, faithful life. Help me to do what You’ve given me with joy, knowing You see it all even when no one else does. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
